Hats!
Here are a couple of things that I knit recently! The first is my first attempt at making a hat on circular needles. Needless to say, I LOVE circular needles!!
After making that hat, I decided I wanted to make something more my own, with my own sort of pattern. This is the result of that:
Vacation's Over :(
That's a picture of my cat, Rogue. She's a cutie :D.
My trip to Guelph just ended yesterday :(. I had SUCH a great time. Met some old aquaintances and became a little closer to friends with said aquaintances. Made some chainmail, ate some food, and just generally had a great time.
Tomorrow I start Tai Chi! I am SO excited! I don't have the special shoes yet, but I will have them one day :D.

Tai Chi
I'm pretty excited because my mom and I are going to be taking a Tai Chi class! It's a class for beginners, and it is going to be every Tuesday night for six weeks. AND we have to get those little canvas shoes that they always wear in the kung-fu movies! That is wicked awesome :D.

Almost There!
So I am, like, ONE question away from being finished the high school course I am taking. Which once I am done will knock my remaining credits from 3 down to 2! Hooray!! My problem with this course is that there's a lot of "opinion" type questions, that I don't always have opinions about! And it's kind of hard to just come up with one right on the spot. And then I fret and worry about whether I'm going to get the question "wrong" because I am just flying by the seat of my pants lol. I've been doing really well so far, but at the same time, I think I prefer questions that have a specific right or wrong answer. And I ESPECIALLY don't like "read between the lines" type of questions. I have NEVER been able to do that. lol.
Three more days of work til my trip to Guelph!! Hooray!!

Day Off!!
And it was COMPLETELY unrelaxing. I spent this morning trying to dig my car out. Turns out, my car was stuck in, like, an ice pit. I had to get my dad to help push me out, but he couldn't do it by himself, and these two guys who were driving by got out and helped too. Then I had to clean out my car because I'm going to Guelph this weekend and may have some people to drive. So I needed to clean out the back seat.
Then this afternoon I had to go get my comics, because I haven't been in weeks, and I had to get gas and an oil change. Turns out the fuel filter in my car is leaking, my windshield wipers are streaky and my air filter is dirty. All of these need to be changed. Of course, I am SUPER poor right now, so I put all of those off. Hopefully not for long though...
Just now, I was going to upload some of my homework to the website, and there's some note about the site licence expiring and I need to tell my tutor. Who is my tutor?! Does this mean I can't finish the course? I'm gonna be PISSED if that is the case. >:(
On a brighter note, I have four more days of work and then I go on my two day vacation to Guelph lol.

Snowed In!
I can't believe it! I went to go to work this morning and my car was literally covered in snow!! The snow on the ground went halfway up my car, and the snow on top was a good 2 feet thick!! It has been a looooooong time since we've seen this much snow. So yeah. After about an hour of shovelling I still can't get out of my driveway and I had to call my boss and tell her there was no way I was gonna be able to come in. Which is bittersweet. It's good cuz I now have a snow day, but it's bad because I am losing about 12-13 hours of work that I REALLY need this time of year. So I guess we'll just see what happens! Maybe I'll just spend the day playing with my sister's new Wii :). Or doing homework lol.

Dummy
So I definitely locked my keys in my car today. While I was in St. Catharines. Gr.... I called my mom, because she has my spare key and she said she couldn't get out of work early and I would have to wait. So then I called the tow truck, and they said it would be an HOUR for the truck to come. Screw that. I called my mom back and got her to come get me. If it was gonna take an hour anyways, I might as well not pay for it. But that totally stuck a wrench in my plans for this afternoon!
Tonight, however, I am going to see my nephew and sister in law and then going to a $5 cardio boxing class with my older sister. Maybe I can punch all my new-found frustrations out.

2 Miles!
Today was the first REALLY mild day (like, 10 degrees!) of the year and I worked in a basement from 12-8. Talk about major bummer. HOWEVER I just couldn't let the beautiful temperature go to waste, so at about 9:30 tonight, DESPITE the fact that it was raining slightly, I went for my first bike ride of the year! It was good! I just rode around the block... but the block is huge. The whole ride was probably about 2 miles. Took me about 20, 25 minutes. So yeah. I was definitely really sweaty and sore when I got home, but it feels really good! You know that good pain, where it really hurts, but you know you just did something really good to get it. So yeah. I was pretty excited about that. But the sad news is there probably won't be a follow-up ride tomorrow, because the weather is calling for freezing rain and snowstorms and a massive drop in temperature tonight. Oh boy does that ever SUCK!
I'm pretty excited though because this is one of the last weeks before the summer season that we'll be closed during the week. So I have Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday off. I am going to make the best of that time with a mixture of resting and going out. Tomorrow I plan to purchase the new God of War game that is being released for the PSP. Assuming that I don't get screwed because I live in Canada. That is usually the case, so I'm trying not to let myself get tooooo excited. But even if that doesn't happen, I can still get my comic books, so that will make me happy lol. I should probably clean my room and organize my comic books at some point too. I haven't done that in a while, so there are comics lying around everywhere. Really bad for them... but honestly. They're probably never going to be worth much so who cares lol.

iPod
So after my Windows Vista fiasco, I've come to start respecting Apple. And as my first sign of support, I purchased a second generation iPod nano. Used... from my friend... but nevertheless lol. So yeah, I'm pretty excited. I've had an mp3 player before, but this thing totally puts it to shame. I am blown away by the 4gb of storage space. Aparently that's not much, but I'm sheltered, so to me it's a whole universe of song space lol. I am still putting music on it. I keep thinking I'm going to run out of space, but I haven't as of yet.

Save the Drama for your Mama
So I'm starting to get really annoyed with one of my workers. They are lazy as hell, and always have SOMETHING to complain about. Right now, their main complaint is my boss. This person keeps trying to give away all their shifts, is always late, and always has some ridiculous excuse or another to explain why they suck each particular day. And now that my boss is taking some action, this person is complaining about my boss behind her back. Which REALLY pisses me off, because she's my boss, but at the same time, she's like a work partner and my friend! SO basically, I'm really tired of hearing it. Why do people do that? Why can't people just go STRAIGHT to the person they have a problem with instead of bitching and complaining to everyone? I guess technically that's what this blog is doing... except for one thing. I haven't given this address to anyone because this is only really meant for my own personal enjoyment. Not so everyone I know can read every personal detail of my life and thought in my head. Generally, if I have an issue with someone, they know it. Maybe not first... but certainly before the rest of the world.

Pink
I wore pink to work today. Aparently, today was some kind of "anti-bullying" day and you were supposed to wear pink if you are against bullying. Which I am. So I did.
I found a new love today. His name is chocolate soy milk. Yum... not as awesome as real chocolate milk, but I'm trying to cut down my dairy intake seeing as I am finally coming to accept the fact that my body and dairy don't see eye to eye. I've been ignoring that for years, but I'm getting kinda tired of feeling sick everytime I have a glass of milk, or some cereal or whatever. So I'm trying out the soy milk option. As of yet, I haven't tried regular soy milk. Just the chocolate stuff. I have a feeling I will only drink regular soy milk in cereal. I doubt I'd like a glass of it. But I'm really digging the chocolate stuff!

Success!
Yay! The Aloette party went way better than I thought it would! I totally thought I'd have too few people show up and that nobody would buy anything and then that would be sad. BUT I think I had 9 people, and altogether they all spent over $500! So that's awesome! I am definitely surprised. Especially because I told people they didn't have to buy anything if they didn't want to lol. But it was fun, and I'm glad I did it.
I also "debuted" my brand new sweater. I spent about a week or so knitting it and sewing buttons on it and so on and so forth, and last night I wore it to my party. I actually had a bunch of knitters there and they were all very impressed! Mostly because they were older ladies and didn't expect a 22 year old like myself to be a knitter lol. Right now, I'm not ENTIRELY happy with the sweater, so I have a few adjustments to make. It's wearable, but I don't think it's at the state yet where I can call it properly finished and be satisfied with it. Once it's done, I will post a picture, but I'm not sure when that will be.
Today I'm back to work again, and it's snowing out. Boring! But the good news is that I'm starting to get a little better at the exercising, I think. Push-ups don't hurt as much, and I'm not in as much pain the next day, so that's exciting. My sister Linnie invited me to this thing she goes to. I'm not entirely sure what it is, but from what she was saying it SOUNDS like $5 boxing lessons. Which would be really neat. I told her I would definitely go to that with her when I get the days off.
Now the next thing to look forward to on my schedule (besides going to the Aloette parties that THREE of the girls at my show booked!) is the chainmail gathering in Guelph. It's March 15-16 this year. I went last year and had a blast, so I'm definitely looking forward to going again. Dave and I are probably going to book a hotel room for the night in between. Last year we stayed in a hotel, but it was a surprise for Dave, so I paid all of it. This year we're going to split the cost. Excited!!

Tonight's the night!
Welp, tonight is the night of my Aloette party. I woke up at 9:00 this morning and went to the grocery store and spend lots of money on snacky food. I also baked cup cakes last night when I got home from work at around 10:00pm. So honestly, I'm more excited about eating them than I am about the actual party, I think! lol I think I actually managed to get 10 people to come, and I also for sure got one outside order, so that's cool. Possibly more that I don't know of yet. We shall see.
I spent the whole morning and the greater part of this afternoon cleaning my house. Or rather, cleaning my parents house. It's as clean as I can get it now. And I've got some yummy smelling candles burning in the living room and the kitchen. So hopefully my mom will be satisfied enough that she won't feel anxious about the house when the company comes over.
I've also decided that I'm going to start exercising everyday. I can't do much yet, because I'm still weak and stuff (lol) but today I did 10 girly push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 10 of those sit-ups where you kinda go sideways and 10 crunches. I also "rode" the exercise bike for a little while, but it's a shitty bike, so I don't feel like it's doing anything. I can't wait til the summer time when I can actually go out on my bike again. Without freezing my ass off and slipping on ice. I think my goal is to get myself into shape enough that I can ride my bike to work every day in the summer. Then that will get me more in shape so I just feel good about myself. Plus I won't waste gas that way, and therefore I'll spend less money. Lots of good things come with riding to work.
Anyways, I'm off to get myself showered so I won't be stinky when people come over.

Pathetic!
So I got a little bored at work yesterday and decided to exercise (what?!). I only did 10 push-ups (girly style), 10 sit-ups and 10 squats. That's it. And I woke up this morning and my muscles all hurt!!! I guess that's what happens when you NEVER exercise. My legs are fine, but that's because I am used to climbing stairs and stuff at work, but whatever those muscles that are kinda in your armpits are.... they are killing me!! I guess I should probably stretch next time I try something stupid like push-ups.... lol.
P.S. My cat is watching birds and making really weird noises.

Idiot...
Argh!! I am super frustrated! I have another idiot to deal with at work. By idiot, I mean person that doesn't work while they're there, plans to go home early every day and doesn't listen to a damn thing I say. Every day we work together he's been telling me what time he plans to go home, and I have to tell him, no, he can go home when I say he can. Then yesterday, he was TWO HOURS late and made up a bull shit excuse, then when he was supposed to leave, I told him he had to clean the entrance to his ride before he leaves, because he never does and I keep getting in trouble for that, but he completely ignored me and just left. He better fuckin smarten up or he's soon going to realize how much "fun" it is to work for me if you're an idiot.
The good news is, I finished my first sweater! The knitting part anyways. I still have to sew up the holes and sew in the loose ends and stuff. But it's almost done!! Yay!

Party time
So I am DEFINITELY having a hard time finding female friends to come to my Aloette party. It's on Monday, which is only 5 days away, and at this point I only have 3 or 4 confirmed guests, when I need 12-15!! I don't really know what I'm gonna do. It wasn't really even my IDEA to have this party... bah. Plus I'm going to have to spend all of Monday cleaning the house and getting snacky food ready. What a way to spend my day off. I am really not looking forward to this...

SW Logo
So here's a little something I'm quite proud of... it's a knitted inlay of the Star Wars logo! This picture is taken without the flash, so it's a LITTLE blurry, but you still get the idea. When I took a picture with the flash, it totally washed it out, and looked worse. This was made as a Christmas present for a friend of mine who is a huge fan of the Star Wars films. And pretty much everything and anythign else that has to do with Star Wars! I kinda wish I could've kept it for myself... but oh well ;).

Winter Blahs
I HATE February. There is absolutely NOTHING to look forward to in February. No holidays worth noting. Unless of course, you count Family Day. Which I have decided I hate too. I actually had family day off, not because I work at a place that gives you holidays, that just happened to be my day off. But nothing was open! And I kept forgetting that nothing was open because who ever heard of family day before?! So basically, I find it more of a nuisance than anything else.
I'm having an Aloette party on Monday, but I am fast realizing that I have a dearth of female friends. Which normally speaking would be just fine with me. Except I have to find 12-15 girls that will DEFINITELY come to my party, and that is proving to be quite difficult. Hopefully I get enough, but we'll see what happens.
I also got my lowest mark yet in the high school course I'm taking... 89% on the last unit. That's not BAD per say, but it is so far the worst mark. All the other units were in the 90's. I knew that was going to happen though, because I HATED the book I had to read (Catcher in the Rye... ew) and I didn't understand a good chunk of the questions, so for the most part, I was flying by the seat of my pants. I guess considering that was the case, I didn't do so bad lol.
At the beginning of the month I did sound for a musical at the local university... and it was an effing nightmare!! I was able to attend the first day of tech week, which was SUPPOSED to be a cue-to-cue, but the place I rented sound equipment from sent the wrong kind of speakers. No speakers=no sound=no cue-to-cue for Fiona. Then, I got ridiculously sick with the flu and couldn't attend the second tech rehearsal. But I was on the phone with them all night, as they could not get microphones to work. The next rehearsal I went to, and I still couldn't get the microphones to work, and then got really sick and had to go home. "Luckily" the first show was cancelled due to weather, which was bitter sweet, in that I got to stay home and had an extra day to figure out mics, but we lost a ton of money. The first show was pretty rough, because we only miced the stage, having given up on the wireless microphones. But in the afternoon between the first and second shows, we magically managed to get the mics working. And the second show rocked!! The last show rocked less hard, but was still quite the improvement from the first show. So to tie it all up, basically, I was sicker than I have ever been in my life, the sound equipment that I rented barely worked and a show got cancelled. In my opinion, that counts as a nightmare. Even though it sold out and everyone loved it. lol.
