I HATE February. There is absolutely NOTHING to look forward to in February. No holidays worth noting. Unless of course, you count Family Day. Which I have decided I hate too. I actually had family day off, not because I work at a place that gives you holidays, that just happened to be my day off. But nothing was open! And I kept forgetting that nothing was open because who ever heard of family day before?! So basically, I find it more of a nuisance than anything else.
I'm having an Aloette party on Monday, but I am fast realizing that I have a dearth of female friends. Which normally speaking would be just fine with me. Except I have to find 12-15 girls that will DEFINITELY come to my party, and that is proving to be quite difficult. Hopefully I get enough, but we'll see what happens.
I also got my lowest mark yet in the high school course I'm taking... 89% on the last unit. That's not BAD per say, but it is so far the worst mark. All the other units were in the 90's. I knew that was going to happen though, because I HATED the book I had to read (Catcher in the Rye... ew) and I didn't understand a good chunk of the questions, so for the most part, I was flying by the seat of my pants. I guess considering that was the case, I didn't do so bad lol.
At the beginning of the month I did sound for a musical at the local university... and it was an effing nightmare!! I was able to attend the first day of tech week, which was SUPPOSED to be a cue-to-cue, but the place I rented sound equipment from sent the wrong kind of speakers. No speakers=no sound=no cue-to-cue for Fiona. Then, I got ridiculously sick with the flu and couldn't attend the second tech rehearsal. But I was on the phone with them all night, as they could not get microphones to work. The next rehearsal I went to, and I still couldn't get the microphones to work, and then got really sick and had to go home. "Luckily" the first show was cancelled due to weather, which was bitter sweet, in that I got to stay home and had an extra day to figure out mics, but we lost a ton of money. The first show was pretty rough, because we only miced the stage, having given up on the wireless microphones. But in the afternoon between the first and second shows, we magically managed to get the mics working. And the second show rocked!! The last show rocked less hard, but was still quite the improvement from the first show. So to tie it all up, basically, I was sicker than I have ever been in my life, the sound equipment that I rented barely worked and a show got cancelled. In my opinion, that counts as a nightmare. Even though it sold out and everyone loved it. lol.
